Celebrate my Etsy's shop's 1st birthday with a 30% off storewide flash sale

My word, how time flies when you're selling vintage! Today I'm elated to celebrate the 1st birthday of my Etsy vintage shop with all of you, and what better way to mark such an milestone occasion than with a massive sale.

To mark Chronically Vintage on Etsy's first year of life, I'm holding a storewide 30% off flash sale that will run from today (May 6th) until Saturday May 9th.

This is going to be my only storewide sale of the season, so now is definitely the time to pick up that item (or two...or ten!) that you've been eyeing for a while, or to discover a new "can't live without it" treasure there.

Don't forget that I offer very low combined shipping rates on multiple items purchased at the same time and only charge true shipping. So if a shipping overage of $1.00 or more does happen to occur, I refund it to you right away after posting out your order.

Take Mable and Peggy's lead and rush over to shop Chronically Vintage's 30% off 1st anniversary sale today! And please don't be shy when it comes to sharing about this sale on social media. Just save the image above and pepper it across the web wherever you'd like!

This past year as an Etsy shop owner, on top of being a full-time vintage blogger, has been one of many exciting learning curves, honing my time management skills, awesome opportunities, newly forged friendships, support from many of my blog readers, and tons of experiences that I wouldn't have traded for the world.

While I wouldn't call myself a veteran Etsy seller yet, I'm not the newest kid on the block either any longer either and I love that fact. I know Etsy well now and have a very good sense of what it's like to earn a living there.

It takes, amongst other things, massive amounts of work, perseverance, dedication, great customer service skills, plenty of word of mouth coverage, an unwavering belief in yourself, and the ability to continually replenish your virtual shelves with awesome new finds that are apt to speak to a wide range of vintage adoring folks.

I truly want to thank each and every one of you who has helped to support my Etsy shop during its first year in so many different ways. It would not be where it is today for one red second were it not for all of you.

As we kick off its second fabulous year, I hope that you'll continue to shop my old school wares and be a part of making Chronically Vintage on Etsy an ever-greater success!

CV + The Curious Professor Z team up for a fabulous Etsy shop giveaway and excusive coupon code on her blog

This week, on none other than Friday the 13th (which, as a bit of a side note, has actually, historically, been a day of good luck for me, not the other way around), I teamed up with my wonderful friend Franny from the blog The Curious Professor Z for a giveaway and limited time coupon code for my Etsy shop.

Swing on by Franny's seriously lovely (she says the nicest things about me - aww!) giveaway post to enter for your chance to win a $50.00 store credit for my Etsy shop and to take advantage of the exclusive 25% off coupon code that I've created just for this exciting post.

The giveaway is open to entrants worldwide and likewise, as I ship to every country, the coupon code can be used by customers anywhere to save a big on purchases made between now and March 31, 2015.

In unrelated news, it was with a heavy heart that I read this week of the recent passing of one of Flickr's greatest vintage image uploaders, Paul Malon.

James Vaughan, aka X-Ray Delta One, kindly took it upon himself to announce the passing at the end of January of his friend Paul, whose chock-a-block vintage photo and illustration filled stream had been a constant companion and source of many images used here in various Chronically Vintage for years now.

Mr. Malon’s tireless passion for sharing old school images was hugely appreciated by myself and many others and he will be greatly missed. At present his Flickr stream, with over 24,600 images is still online and is beyond well worth spending some time with (especially since it's hard to say how long it will continue to remain in place).

This is actually the third person in less than three weeks that I was either acquainted with or who was very close to someone that I knew and am friends with (but hadn't interacted with deceased personally myself) who has departed from this world and I must say, it's making for a rather somber March. Thankfully in the case of Paul's life though, we can continue to celebrate it and his massive love for yesteryear art, photos, and history - something that so many of us here can relate to - through his Flickr stream.

{Just one of the tens of thousands of images that avid Flickr user Paul Malon posted in his incredible, immensely history rich stream over the years. Thank you, Mr. Malon, for the inspiration and images alike. I always loved visiting and checking out what you'd so diligently shared with us there. Flickr won't be the same without you..}

In other recent happenings, the week solid of almost no sleep + around the clock work to get my business taxes in order (last week) really did a number on me. Instead of slowly bouncing back this week, I've almost gotten weaker and more unwell feeling with each passing day, so I'm going to be taking things mighty easy this weekend and hopefully in a few more days I'll have a bit of pep in my step, so to speak, once more.

Aside from those things though, all is well and I'm grateful that spring is a mere week away. Though the weather here is still (somewhat) playing for team winter, the first gentle signs of the new season are beginning to emerge and each one fills me with joy and excitement.

Also firing up my cylinders at the moment is the giveaway over at Franny's terrific blog. Again, my lovely dears, be sure to pop on over and enter for your chance to win a $50.00 store credit for my Etsy vintage shop and to pick up the off coupon code there that will save you 25% off on anything in my store until the end of March.

Wishing you each a beautiful, (hopefully) sun-kissed weekend!!!

Buy more, save more Chronically Vintage Etsy shop holiday season sale

It's the most festive time of the year again and I couldn't be happier!!! As it is for so many of us, Christmas is immensely near and dear to my heart and I love to celebrate it in as many ways as possible (from baking enough holiday treats to feed an army to donating toys, clothes, and food to local families who are in need). I also adore taking advantage of December shopping deals and know that I'm definitely not alone on that front either, so in the spirit of helping you all do so, starting today I'm having a mammoth sale in my Etsy shop.

This sale will run for three weeks (with January 5, 2015 being the last day), so as to encompass Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, New Years, and all the other fabulous holidays that fall during this festive time of the year. Whether you're shopping for yourself or giving gifts to your friends, family, coworkers, or anyone else in your life, now is the time to save big!!!

{This holiday season, the more you buy, the more you save in Chronically Vintage's Etsy shop. Treat yourself or someone special to the perfect vintage gift this December and save plenty in the process. It's a total win-win for everyone! Image source.}

Unlike the other sales that I've had so far, this one operates on the basis of, the more you buy, the more you save. Please see the following list and use the appropriate coupon code when purchasing anything from my Etsy shop during this three week period.

Spend $1 to $75, save 15% with coupon code Christmas15

Spend $75 to $150, save 25% with coupon code Christmas25

Spend $150 to $300, save 35% with coupon code Christmas35

Spend $300 or more, save 45% with coupon code Christmas45

Coupon codes cannot be combined and do not apply to shipping or taxes (taxes are only applicable to Canadian customers), but you can make multiple purchases of different sizes, say one for $100 today and another for $200 later in the year (or start of January) and take advantage of any and all of these coupon codes on more than occasion.

{Some festively themed and hued items from my Etsy shop, which along with everything else there, you can use the coupon codes in today's post to save 15, 25, 35, or even 45 percent off, depending on your order's total. From top left to bottom right: Kitschy 1950s red and pink plastic poinsettia brooch | 1950s green floral print wiggle dress | Vintage signed Sarah Coventry pink silver flower brooch and earrings set | 1930s dark pine green Bakelite bangle bracelet | Big red and gold vintage disk dangle cha-cha earrings | Beautiful 1950s blue snowflake and flower glass brooch | Vintage red, green, and beige floral and striped Jakymar print scarf | 1950s light blue and emerald green rhinestone crown brooch | Set of three vintage brass and green malachite bangle bracelets | 1940s red plastic bead and brass cha-cha earrings | Vintage Avon Christmas tree and holly berry brooch | Big vintage red lucite and etched silver tone metal belt buckle bangle bracelet (center square item) | Stunning 1950s black and red lace party dress}

The two highest discounts (35% and 45%, respectively) are the largest I've ever offered and I won't likely be having such deep savings again until next December, a full year from now! So if there's an item - or ten! :) - that you've been eyeing from my shop, now is definitely the time to pounce on it!

I truly appreciate all of your business and support of my Etsy shop this year. It's been a little over seven months since it opened now and things have been going great, thanks in no small part to business, encouragement, and sharing (about it) that many of you have blessed me with in 2014. I offer these holiday season savings to all of you (new and returning customers/supporters alike) today as a truly heartfelt token of just how much you and your business all matter to me.

Happy shopping, saving, and holiday season wishes, my dear friends!!!

Save 31% off everything in the Etsy shop this Halloween week!

Boo!!!!! Happy Halloween Eve, Eve, Eve, my dear friends!

It's safe to say that being struck down with this flu (and accompanying flare-ups of some of my conditions) - that is still hangings on fifteen days into it - so soon after we returned from Vancouver Island was certainly not how I planned to spend much of October. The optimist in me likes to think that perhaps falling ill now spared me on the flu + cold front for the rest of the chilly half of the year. Only time will tell, but I really do hope such proves to be the case!

There's just three more days to go until my very favourite holiday and while - as much as I would absolutely love to - I can't hold a Halloween bash at my place and invite you all over, or deliver pumpkin shaped pails of candy to your doorsteps, I can however offer you a very sweet treat in the form of a Halloween sale this week in my Etsy shop.

Starting today (October 28th) and running Sunday November every last thing in the Etsy vintage store is on sale. The prices in the shop have already been reduced, so you don't need to use a coupon code or do anything else at checkout. Just shop, save and have a blast!!!

{Definitely share this image anywhere you'd like to and help spread the word about this festively fabulous Halloween sale at Chronically Vintage's Etsy shop.}

In the spirit of Halloween, I have put everything in the store on sale for 31% off. This is the deepest discount I've ever offered to date in the shop and it will be the only sale before the Christmas season rolls around, so if you've been eyeing something (or ten things!) over at Chronically Vintage on Etsy, now is definitely the time to buy!

Please feel free to share about this sale on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, your blog, anywhere your heart desires. It would be of help to me and a great way for your friends and followers to get word of the fact that every last item (of which I've added over thirty new listings in the past few days alone) is currently on sale for 31% off.

I really appreciate your support of my Etsy shop and your awesome business and hope that this fun surprise treat helps make your Halloween week all the more merry, marvelous, and vintage-tastically fashionable!

Clothing and handbags launch in my Etsy shop + a special coupon code discount

When this year kicked off, some eight months ago now (hard to believe, I know!), I wrote a post detailing many of the different things that I planned to do in 2014. Two-thirds of the way through the year, I can very happily and confidentially say that I've made progress on every front, very much including the sixth entry on the list: trying new things and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.

One of the biggest happened just a few days ago, when I launched my YouTube channel and started sharing videos with all of you there (the feedback for which has been incredibly supportive and I really, sincerely want to thank everyone who has left me a comment or sent me an email about it - you guys have had some fabulous ideas for posts as well, which I also hugely appreciate!), and earlier this year, in May, another major new happening was when when my Etsy vintage shop opened its doors.

Now, nearly three months since that happened, I'm flat out giddy with excitement to share with you that, on top of vintage jewelry, hats, gloves, accessories, compacts, and ephemera, Chronically Vintage is now stocking vintage clothing, stockings, and handbags as well (and shoes will be following very, very soon, too!). Below are four of the garments and four of the handbags that are on the virtual shelves there as we speak!

From top left to bottom right: 1960s ladies plaid cotton blazer | Circa 1960s pink plus size dress with matching scarf | 1940s sheer ivory and gold tie neck blouse | 1950s green wool floral print wiggle dress

From top left to bottom right: Vintage black velvet 1940s/1950s box purse | Vintage black and gold metallic thread brocade purse | 1940s black crochet handbag | 1950s brown marble swirl lucite handbag

There isn't a time in my life, no joke, when I can't remember wanting to sell vintage items, especially clothing and accessories, so I'm over-the-moon elated that fashions have joined the team, so to speak, in the shop as well.

To celebrate this fact, I'm offering all my readers a special coupon code that will save you 15% off everything in my shop for the five days (today until the night of Friday August 8th). There's no minimum order and you apply this coupon code to absolutely anything you purchase from me between today and the 8th.

Use coupon code Fashionlaunch15 at checkout

to save 15% on everything in store!

The vintage fashions and handbags I’m selling have all been sourced from around my province of British Columbia are just some of the many I'll be continuing to list in the coming weeks and from here on out.

One point I want to mention is that I vow stock as wide a range of different sized clothing as possible. If, like most people, you have a waist size bigger the 23 inches, you're in luck, because my shop has, and will always have, a range of different sizes, from XS to plus size and everything in between. We, as the gorgeous ladies we are, come in all manner of shapes and sizes and it's deeply important to me that I provide fashions that as many people as possible can avail of and enjoy wearing.

A quick second point that I'd like to slip into this post, and this applies to everything in my shop, not just clothing, is that I offer super low combined shipping on order where two or more items are purchased at the same time. I can't do anything about the base postal rate, I'm afraid, as that's what Canada Post charges (I don't make a profit on my shipping at all), but I can offer you super low rates on each additional item you add to your order from me to give you the most bang for your shipping dollar buck.

Happy shopping and thank you, everyone, as always for sharing in all of the exciting beginnings I've been experiencing this year - very much including the launch of clothing and handbags in my Etsy shop. Here's to plenty more super cool firsts still to come in 2014 and beyond!

Save 20% off any eShakti purchase with this exclusive promo code

Towards the end of this past January, I wrote - in rather great detail - about my first experiences with online ladies clothing seller, eShakti.com. The month before I'd received a complimentary item (a gorgeous skirt, which will appear here late in the spring in an outfit post unto itself) to review from them, and then (the same week) opted to purchase two dresses from them out of my own pocket.

Despite selecting the what should have been my correct size, neither dress fit (they were a full two inches small than the measurements stated) and so both are pretty much write-offs for me (I think I'm going to sell them and recoup a bit of my loses). As well, I had issues with the insanely high courier fees from the company (DHL) that eShakti used to ship my (paid) order to me. I talked at length about both of these points in my previous eShakti post, so I won't rehash them here so soon after that

In the time since that piece went live, I've spoken to a member of eShakti's customer service about the problems I encountered, and can honestly say that they were receptive to what I had to say. As well, they were very kind in helping to make up for some of the issues I ran into (for example, I was issued a $50.00 refund to cover the cost of one of the dresses that did not fit me due to the sizing being smaller than stated).

Just a few days ago, I heard from eShatki again, when they offered me the chance to select three dresses from their (absolutely beautiful) new spring lineup, one of which I will be receiving for free to review.

Just which of these three dresses I'm going to be sent, remains to be seen (the selection, I believe, is random, based on stock and sizes available), but I loved all three and would be happy with any one of them.

Knowing the fit issued I'd encountered with the two dresses I'd bought from eShakti in December, I selected the review dress two full sizes larger than I usually wear (normally a six would fit based on the measurements of their garments, but to hopefully be on the safe side, I went with a size ten). I'm hoping that this will ensure a better fit this time around and am thoroughly looking forward to receiving my review dress and blogging about it in a future post.

So smitten was I was eShakti's spring offerings actually, that I thought given how today is the second day of March - the month that will, at long last, kick off spring again - I'd share some of my favourite garments in their current lineup with all of you.

{Puddy tat print dress ~ $79.95}

eShatki navy blue nautical anchor sheath dress, vintage, pinup, rockabilly

If any of these pieces are calling your name, I'm very happy to be able to offer all of my wonderful readers a 20% off coupon that's valid until March 20, 2013 on all eShakti.com purchases (excluding items in eShakti's Overstock category).

All you have to do is enter promo code CHRNCLLYVN before you checkout to receive 20% off your eShatki entire order (this promo code is not case sensitive and does not require a minimum order to be placed for it to be valid).

As I'd discussed in my post last January, I really want to make eshakti's garments work for me and to adore their site, service and products. Their offerings are lovely, many have a vintage vibe to them, and the ability to customize certain elements of any of their pieces thoroughly appeals to me.

It's my sincere hope that that this new review dress they're kindly sending me will fit perfectly and that it will be able to make an eShakti devotee out of me once and for all.

*EDIT* Monday: I've heard back from eShakti and the coupon code has been fixed (it seems all the coupon codes they sent out to various bloggers recently failed to work from March 1-3rd). I just created a sample order to test if the code was working and it is indeed.

eShakti.com has also extended the duration that this sale from the 10th until March 20th, giving you ten more days to save 20% off any order you place with them.
