Halloween 2015 Edition of 25 Vintage Deals Under $100

In precisely two weeks, Halloween will be upon us again. To say that I'm downright giddy as schoolghoul (see what I did there :D) about this fact would be an understatement!

After an absolutely, positively jam packed week (Canadian Thanksgiving, three family birthdays, our wedding anniversary, and plenty of work related happenings), I'm spent physically, but nothing can deter the excitement I have over Halloween's return and hopefully I can take thing a little easier between then and now, so that I'm well rested for when the big day arrives.

{The countdown is truly on! Soon we'll head out to the local patch to pick our pumpkins, costumes will be donned, and we'll embrace the awesomeness that is Halloween once more! 1950s photo source.}

From the day after Thanksgiving onward, I've been living in seasonally hued and/or themed attire and will be doing so right up until All Hallows' Eve itself. Orange, black, purple, grey, grey, white, earthy browns, golden yellows, deep crimsons, they're all fair game and out in heavy rotation.

I wrote last year about how I feel Halloween is for fashion lovers, a stance that will never falter for me. As such, I wanted to devote this month's festive Halloween 2015 edition of 25 Vintage Deals Under $100 primarily to vintage, vintage appropriate, and handmade wearables that capture the spirit of this most eerier or holidays, be it sweet, spooky, spirited, or anything in between.

    1. Thank you very much, Ally. I am absolutely enjoying this October!!! It's been a massively busy one, as usual, but I've really, really been trying to make Halloween related things the focus as often as possible and have been over-the-moon giddy a good percentage of the time as a result. I'm so excited that there's less than two weeks to go!

Here's to a stellar All Hallows' Eve for both of us!

  3. What a fun list :) I'd wear that cute striped skirt all year round, for sure. I feel I need some more Halloweeny items in my wardrobe - I don't think I have a single piece of orange!! x

    1. Orange was a colour that I largely avoid from about the ages of 13 to my mid-20s, as I had memories of it looking ghastly on me as a child. I started playing around with different shades though and discovered, much to my delight, that I could pull off some on the very light and very dark side of the spectrum and have been thoroughly hooked ever since. Orange is Tony's favourite colour, so we're both happy campers when I sport it. I hope you find some lovely orange pieces that work a treat for you as well, darling gal.

Tons of hugs & happy Sunday wishes,
      ♥ Jessica

  4. It's a basket-full of goodness, Jess.
As someone who enjoys other cultures, and someone who does not celebrate Halloween, this is a prime way to see something new, fun and.. spectacular. It really is a "spectacular" thing, you guise make is a spectacle, a show.. a street performance: all the toddler (mind me, and adults!) pacing up and down the streets, giving a little show in front of every door. Sounds to me like one hundred little performances being done in a single evening.
    ..
I love your enthusiasm. It's giving me a good glimpse of what's it like over there, way across the Grand Pond. :)

    1. Thank you very much, my darling friend! I absolutely love that I'm able to share this unending passion (for Halloween) with you and all my readers around the world, whether they celebrate this event of not. I love that as time goes on, Halloween is becoming more of a global phenomenon. Will it ever be celebrated in every country around the world? Highly doubtful, but perhaps as time goes on, it will spread to yours more. I know it's certainly do so in a number of European countries, including (slowly) Tony's homeland of Italy, as well as my old stomping grounds (okay, for two years :D), Ireland (which, in the case of the latter, is all the more fitting given how many North American Halloween traditions have their roots in Ireland and/or the UK).

Wishing you a gorgeous, festive second half of October, sweet Marija!

      Big hugs,

  5. Great selection of items, I like the cats head brooches. I bought a brooch from Luxulite with pumpkins on it which I am enjoying wearing enormously.

    1. That sounds awesome!!! I adore the cat brooches from Summer Blue Jewelry here, too. The only reason I haven't ordered one yet is the continually abysmal state that the Canadian dollar is in. I'm so tempted all the same though!!! How awesome that you bought one of Luxulite autumn themed brooches. Her work is sensational, too!!! (I own four Luxulite brooches to date and really hope to pick up more as time goes on.)

Wishing you a gorgeous rest of autumn, my dear friend!

      Big hugs,

    1. Thank you very much, sweet lady! That necklace sold a couple of days ago, shortly after my post. It's such a stunning piece. I wish I had fifty more just like it, as I know they'd continue to prove popular with my those in our sphere. With a bit of luck, maybe I'll find a similar one or two in time for next autumn.

Have a fantastic week and countdown to Halloween!

  9. Thoroughly enjoyed this post Jessica! I love Halloween dressing, though it's harder here in Australia where it's getting hotter, not cooler. Still, a brooch here, a splash of orange there, it's doable :)

    1. I can wholeheartedly imagine. Three cheers indeed for orange!!! Do you like wearing green and/or purple as well? Both are frequently integrated into Halloween inspired looks (and costumes) here. In fact, I'll be sharing one with all three of those colours here next week and am really looking forward to it.

Big hugs & many thanks for your great comment,

I have to admit I am not a fan of the classic Halloween colours: Black and orange, in fact I try to shy away from them.

    1. Aren't they just marvelous? I get that. Orange and black isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'll be sharing a Halloween themed outfit here next week that centers around a different shade for this season (lime green), which I think you'll quite enjoy. :)

  13. What a lovely list, inspiring and tempting. I started wearing my quite big collection of Halloween jools a week ago, I simply love it. Rhinestone ghosts, glow in the dark ghost, enamelled bright orange pins and earrings, black spiders and bats. It brings a smile to my face, and since Halloween is not very common (yet) in Denmark, it gets a lot of comments too. Have a lovely day, dear. :)
