If you've been reading this blog for any amount of time, chances are you will have picked up on the fact that I'm not exactly wild about so-called fashion rules. That isn’t to say that I don't think there is merit to applying certain principles to how you dress, but I'm not a fan of woefully outdated concepts that bar the wearing of particular colour pairings, for example, and absolutely love it when I get the chance to quash one of those for, I hope, good (at least amongst my audience).
Today's vintage outfit post highlights what I wore recently on the very first day of spring (I know, you wouldn't necessarily know that it was such based on the overcast, windy, nearly rainy weather) and stars none other than the serene colour palette of green and blue - royal blue, to be exact in this case.
I've always adored these two colours together and wear them many times throughout the year. While few people bat an eye if someone sports blue jeans and a green shirt, there is an endearing concept (much as with brown and black) that one should not wear blue and green together lest they clash (due to being so similar in tone).
Just exactly where and when this concept came amount is up for debate. Some feel that colours that touch on the colour wheel are best left out of the same outfit, but you're doing yourself a great disservice if you following this notion, which is far less rigidly enforced for other similar pairs like orange and yellow or blue and purple.
At the end of the day, what matters far more than a completely arbitrary rule is how well a colour, or colour combo, as the case may be, looks on you personally. If you enjoy blue and green together (and eschew the old notion that states they should never be seen together), then rock them - especially during spring and summer, when they suit the vibrancy of the world around us so superbly.
I opted to usher in spring with this very palette and made the star of the show this elegantly beautiful mid-century vintage style Nancy V-Neck Dress from the terrific Australian clothing e-tailer 1950s Glam.
A new and exciting player on the vintage reproduction and pinup girl clothing scene, 1950s Glam was recently launched in Sydney by two ladies who adore the classic glamour of Old Hollywood and wanted to bring more of such to the online fashion world.
1950s Glam recently contacted me about working together and after I scoped out their site - which, I should mention, recently got some splendid revamping and saw the addition of an even greater number of products on offer - I agreed immediately. At present, they're focusing on vintage and pinup style dresses, which suits me just fine, as I'm one of those gals who can never, have too many timelessly pretty frocks in their closet.
I opted for the Nancy dress in the hue that I did because I'm both wild about this colour and also because I didn't, prior to it, have any solid royal blue dresses and had been wanting to change that for ages. My order was securely packaged in a sturdy flat plastic mailing envelope (with the dress itself being further protected by clear plastic packaging inside) and arrived in a very reasonable amount of time to this side of the world.
Made from a wonderfully comfortable, light to medium weight polyester - which is, at least for this time of the year - very breathable, this elegant mid-century style frock sports a becoming v-neckline, pleated bust, high waisted full skirt, and a hem that will hit many wearers at or below the knee (I'm just barely 5'2", for a sense of scale from a height perspective, and this dress comes a little past my knees).
I found navigating 1950s Glam's website and listings to be a breeze. Each listing includes a clear, easy to understand size chart and key details about the garment itself.
In addition, while I received this sophisticated dress for gratis (thank you so much for this great gift, ladies, I'm in love with it!), if you wish to order anything at all from their online shop, 1950s Glam not only provides free worldwide shipping on all orders, but provides a 10% off coupon code to put towards your first order when you signup for their newsletter (that will inform you of sales and special offers).
Their prices are entirely reasonable in the vintage reproduction/rockabilly/pinup girl clothing online marketplace of 2016 and when you factor in the free worldwide shipping, they become even more so.
I'm very impressed with this comfortable, chic, delightfully pretty royal blue dress (which I just know will get ample year round wear thanks to its solid colour and awesome mid-century design) and definitely expect that I'll be ordering from them in the future.
And speaking of 1950s Glam and the future, keep your eyes peeled here later in the spring, as I'm going to be holding a truly awesome giveaway with this company in June that will provide one lucky winner the chance to land any dress (seriously!) that they wish from this new vintage style clothing website's completely covetable inventory.
As touched on in Monday's post, flare-ups with some of my chronic medical conditions in recent weeks has meant that I've only been able to leave the house twice in more than six weeks. Luckily, one of those days was the first one of spring and though the weather wasn't all that specular, it wasn't snowing - nor was so cold that a jacket was a must when shooting near the water, as we did that day down at the beach in the nearby community of Okanagan Falls.
Thankfully this week has been smoother for me on the health front and I hope to make up for lost time on the outfit shoot front this coming weekend, especially since the weather has perked up a lot and we're now experiencing spring in all of its wondrous beauty - very much including plenty of blue skies and fresh green grass.
And you know, it is for that reason - that blue and green are Mother Nature's favourite colour pairing - above all else that I will always enjoy, appreciate, and periodically wear these two tranquil hues in the same ensemble.
If you're a fan, I highly encourage you to do the same. There's a shade of each out there for just about everyone under the the sun and chances are, they'll look breathtaking together on you!
I hope you start to feel better my dear <3 Love the color combination and screw the 'fashion rules'!!! (to agree with you, hehehe!)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, sweet Meagan. I'm thrilled to report that I'm doing considerably better on the health front this week - so much so actually that Tony and I have made fun weekend plans, which will definitely help shake off the cabin fever I'm feeling right now.
DeleteBig time! Fashion is at its best when one marches to the beat of their own drum.
Tons of hugs,
♥ Jessica
Sorry about the health problems. :( You look fantastic and I really admire the beautiful scenery in these photos. Congrats in your partnership with 1950s glam, you lucky devil you! Hope you feel better soon. Lots of virtual hugs
ReplyDeleteYou're such a dear, thank you sweetly, Sylvie. Fortunately things are improving a lot on the health front this week, but the last 1.5 months did feel like quite a long haul for sure. Hoping to make up for it this weekend with a fun little getaway weekend.
DeleteSending scores of hugs your way from this side of the country,
♥ Jessica
Hi Jessica. This dress is such a wonderfully vivid shade of blue, it suits you beautifully! I appreciate your sentiments on non-traditional colour matches, I enjoy how you have incorporated green with blue and I admit to often pairing brown with black! I'm sorry to hear you have been feeling unwell of late, I hope you feel better soon and you can enjoy Spring.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, lovely lady. Three huge cheers, as I'm finally getting over these recent flare-ups this week. I'm really thankful about that and about the fact that I didn't miss too much of the spring due to them. If one has to be bedridden, winter is a good time for it! ;)
DeleteBlack and brown are brilliant together. I'm heading out later today and the outfit I have planned with incorporate both of those colours in it.
Many thanks again. I hope that you're having a sunny, terrific week.
xoxo ♥ Jessica
Looking lovely - that dress is the most divine shade of blue! I really love the colours together, I've never understood the blue-green rule. I hope your flare ups die down so that you can get out and about a bit more soon. Xx
ReplyDeleteSame here! Given that Mother Nature has been rocking it successfully for millions upon millions of years, you'd think the fashion world would be more receptive to such.
DeleteThank you very much, my dear friend. I'm really, really happy to report that I'm doing a lot better on the health front this week and hope that things remain a bit calmer there as we continue to bop along through spring.
Tons of hugs & happy Thursday wishes,
♥ Jessica
I could tell right away that the "rule" that was broken was
ReplyDelete"blue and green should never be seen" I always love your color combinations and this one is no different:)
You nailed it, my dear! I adore this pairing, too, and have never paid any heed to that so-called rule.
DeleteBig hugs,
♥ Jessica
Dear Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThose colors look great on you! Like yourself, I don't really pay attention to so-called fashion rules either. If you feel great in it, wear it is my ethos! I'm sorry to hear you have been struggling recently with your chronic illnesses, I do hope things start to settle down for you on the health front soon. Bright blessings for this brighter weather! Jenny xx
Hear, hear! That's my mantra, too - big time. I had a lot of these so-called fashion rules drilled into my head at a young age, but they always felt way to confining for my tastes and I started eschewing them as soon as I could.
DeleteThank you very much, honey. I'm really happy to report that I'm doing considerably better on the health front so far this week - so much so in fact that Tony and I have planned a fun little weekend getaway to celebrate both early spring and my flare-ups having calmed down at the moment. So looking forward to getting out of town for a little while.
Tons of hugs,
♥ Jessica
I love this outfit! And don't think the colors clash at all! Love your black and brown combo as well! And what about black and blue?
ReplyDeleteYes, that is another one that many people mistakenly think can't work well together, yet those colours are amazing in the same outfit. I especially like baby or sky blue and black, but often sport turquoise, aqua, teal, or navy with black as well. They're very harmonious and have a great nighttime sky quality to them.
DeleteBig hugs & many thanks for your lovely comment,
♥ Jessica
So very flattering Jessica!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue dress and I think that the little bits of green complement in perfectly.
I would have never imagined this dress was not vintage as it certainly has the feel.
Thank you so much for the awesome compliments, lovely Lorena. This dress definitely nails the mid-century look awesomely and will be 100% at home in my closet amongst its older peers. :)
DeleteTons of hugs,
♥ Jessica
Proof that rules are made to be broken! If blue sky goes with green landscape, I don't see why the two can't go together in an outfit anyhow. Both colours look fab with your hair.
ReplyDeleteI hope your health continues to improve, it must have been awful for you being too ill to go out.
Hi sweet Mim, thank you very much for your caring words and lovely comment. I'm really, really happy to say that I'm doing a lot better on the health front this week. I think the return of sunshine here has helped a lot (I find that many of my conditions are impacted by the weather to at least some degree).
DeleteMany hugs & happy Thursday wishes,
♥ Jessica
WOW, that dress is dynamite on you!! I love it so much, and your entire outfit is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a splendidly nice compliment, sweet Bristol. Huge thanks!
DeleteHave a fabulous rest of the week!
xoxo ♥ Jessica
Blue and green should always be seen!
ReplyDeleteHow I love this colour combination on you, Jessica. You look beautiful. xxx
Thank you ever so much, darling Vix. I completely agree! Blue and green should be seen often and I for one plan to wear them even more in conjunction from here on out.
DeleteOodles of hugs,
♥ Jessica
I had to laugh at this because I am so anti fashion rule that I've never even heard this one and boy is it ever silly!!! I've always felt that blue and green go great together as you've proven here. I love the gloves in particular
ReplyDeleteRetro rover
Thank you very much, sweet Kate. I'm wildly anti-fashion rule as well. A lot of these antiquated notions were drilled into my head when I was growing up, but none of them sit right with me. From white after Labour day to blue + green together, as shown here, if I want to wear something, I'm going to take advantage of the freedom that I have as adult and just do so. It's fantastic that you feel the same way, too.
DeleteBig hugs,
♥ Jessica
I'm all about breaking fashion rules too ;) I love this blue paired with the mint and greens- what a great color concept!! So glamorous and dramatic all around too! XO

Thank you very much, my fellow fashion rule breaker. Life is just to short, if you ask me, to not wear exactly what your heart desires each day.
DeleteMany hugs,
♥ Jessica
Those colours are wonderful on you my dear, that green makes your skin come alive. I hope you continue to improve on the health front, I'm so sorry you have been struggling again. You are a true inspiration to all, I admire your ability to keep going and I think you are such a strong woman. I hope this spring will be better for you and I'm sending many comforting hugs your way xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, sweet Emily. You are truly a caring, kindhearted person and I hope that I'll be able to brighten your day by sharing that I'm presently doing a lot better on the health front this month. I've long noticed (though can't say for sure why such is the case) that I often get hit with flare-ups of various conditions as one season ends and the next begins, and that, coupled with an incredibly busy, physically intense weekend in late February, is what, I believe, triggered this latest round. Now that we're into spring, I hope that I'll get treated to calmer waters on the health front.
DeleteTons of hugs coming right back at you,
♥ Jessica
green foliage and blue skies!!!
ReplyDeletethis is exactly my answer when people say that "blue&green should never be´n seen"..... the german sentence is even more harsh....
love your ensemble! very much! the new dress is cute - but the green hat is marvelous!! perfect for your pretty face and red locks :-) and that brooch - swoon!
i´m glad to hear that it´s going better on the health front - take it slow now. you have much of spring and the whole summer for lots of colorful outfit shootings!

Way to go, sweet Beate! In our respective corners of the world, we will do our valiant part to put this old fashion myth to bed once and for all!
DeleteThank you very much for your fabulously lovely compliments. This hat is one of my all-time favourites (I purchased it back in the fall of 2013). I find that wide brimmed hats suit me really and well as such have been gravitating towards them more and more lately.
Tons of hugs & happy mid-April wishes,
♥ Jessica
Jessica, You look divine in green and blue. Its one of my favorite color combinations. Im making another trip to Ireland this July for a sketching workshop and have invited my 14 y old niece to come with me. Looking forward to vintage and thrift shopping and good craic and music in the pubs!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself.
Hugs
Morning Waters
How immensely exciting! Tony and I lived in Ireland (first in Dublin, then in the wee town of Clonakilty in County Cork) for the first couple years of our life together. We haven't been back since, but often talk of going back for a milestone anniversary year. I hope that you and your niece have a truly wonderful, fun filled time in the beautiful Emerald Isle.
DeleteMany hugs & thanks for your lovely comment,
♥ Jessica
That dress is beautiful, and I love the green and blue combo!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, lovely lady. Aren't blue and green sensational together? It really floors me that we see so little of this combo in the fashion and home decor worlds.
DeleteHave a terrific Thursday!
xoxo ♥ Jessica
I honestly had no idea that there was some sort of no green with blue rule. Who makes these rules? Not me! That hat is killer. You look like a lovely Morning Glory. I've been down for the count lately, too. It's so crummy, isn't it? Very very happy to see you out and about.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good question! I suspect, but can't say definitively in all cases, that that many hark back to the Victorian era, when there were rules and codes of conduct for just about every element of the fashion world.
DeleteThat is such a beautiful compliment, dear Connie. Huge thanks - it made my whole day!
Tons of hugs,
♥ Jessica
I love green and blue and I've never heard of it being a fashion no-no. My daughters' school colors are navy blue and kelly green so I see it a lot around my house and around town. Your whole outfit looks beautiful. And I love the hatpin!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great pairing, too. Very summertime preppy (in a totally good way). I don't own much kelly green (no idea why not), but if I get more, I'll have to sport it with navy here at some point.
DeleteBig hugs & many thanks for your lovely comment,
♥ Jessica
I didn't know about the "blue and green" rule, which just proves how much I (don't) know about fashion. :-P I think your outfit looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, sweet lady. It's such a silly rule and one that I think this generation, regardless of their personal style, should put to bed once and for all.
DeleteHave a wonderful Thursday,
xoxo ♥ Jessica
Oh my I love this colour blue on you...so beautiful! I have to check out this Australian vintage inspired company for myself! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, darling gal. I'm continually impressed by the bevy of repro/pinup/rockabilly style brands that are coming out of Australia. The list grows bigger and bigger each year and I'm thinking that, a bit later this year, I should do a fun compendium post featuring a bunch of them.
DeleteSending tons of hugs your way,
♥ Jessica
You always look lovely but I have never seen you look more exquisitely, radiantly, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe blue of the dress is gorgeous and your hat! Stunning outfit xxx
That is such a stellar, immensely touching compliment, dear Melanie. Thank you with all my heart. I will be smiling with joy from your words for the rest of the week and then some.
DeleteGiant hugs,
♥ Jessica
I'm sorry to hear you have not been well Jessica. Thinking of you! I've heard about the blue and green rule, but I actually think the colours work really well together. I have several dresses with both colours in them. The outfit you are wearing is gorgeous! Many hugs, Ann.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, my caring friend. I'm really delighted to report that I'm doing a lot, lot better on the health front this week. I swear, my body needed to feel the restorative properties of the sun again and now that it has, I'm on the mend (more).
DeleteI couldn't agree more. They're so splendidly harmonious and tranquil looking. I really don't get why so many people still cling to the old notion that they should never mate. I say we fashion bloggers should try to change that outdated idea once and for all! :)
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
Sorry you've been unwell, I do hope you feel better soon, my lovely. I actually love blue and green together, particularly navy and emerald, and I think you've teamed these two gorgeous colours perfectly. As I was scrolling from the top, I was really hoping you'd show a back shot of that fabulous hat and yes, you answered my prayers. It is absolutely stunning! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, my sweet friend. I'm really happy to report that I've done a near 180 on the health front this week (I swear, it's largely because of the sunshine we've been getting here lately) and am feeling worlds better at the moment - so much in fact that Tony and are taking a fun little getaway this weekend. I'm sure it will burn off all of my lingering cabin fever from the past six weeks.
DeleteTons of hugs & sincere thanks again,
♥ Jessica
Your colors are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, lovely lady. I haven't paired royal blue and mint often before, but now that I've seen them together, I'm utterly smitten and will be looking for more ways to combine them in my wardrobe from here on out.
DeleteMany hugs & happy springtime wishes,
♥ Jessica
Would love to receive such a dress as well, but well, to order is OK, since the shipping is great! I, like you, don't really think of fashion rules, but what is good for me. What makes me feel good. I like blue and green together, I like blue and black, I even don't dislike brown and black. For the "fashion patrol" out there I always say that of course clothes show are era, we can trace history through fashion, and fashion gives jobs and so on, so on, but basically clothes should be meant to protect us from snow, sun, etc. Should. Who dictates fashion rules? Anyway, I loved your dress and gloves, and hat, you look so sweet and beautiful! I hope your health improves and that you can leave the house more often! Hugs and kisses!
ReplyDeleteDenisesPlanet.com
Indeed! You simply can't beat free shipping. It's a true rarity in the vintage style/repro/rockabilly fashion world and will likely help 1950s Glam's popularity to grow in leaps and bounds.
DeleteI love blue and black together in the same outfit, too (especially baby blue and black). These "rules" are so silly and arbitrary. I hope that as time goes on, they'll be retired the world over.
Tons of hugs and happy mid-April wishes coming your way,
♥ Jessica
I don't know that I have every heard about blue and green being barred from each other's company. I think the only one I have heard is that pink and red shouldn't be paired together. ;) (Not that I follow that notion). But I am glad you pointed out that blue and green appear together very often in creation.
ReplyDeleteSarah
sewcharacteristicallyyou.weebly.com
The ol' pink and red one is definitely another lingering fashion rule that needs to go the way of the dinosaur pronto! I've sported those two colours here together numerous times over the years and can't imagine I'll ever stop wearing them - especially since a variation on them, dusty rose and burgundy, comprises my top two favourite colours ever! :)
DeleteTons of hugs & happy Thursday wishes,
♥ Jessica
Happy First day of Spring! Before I moved to Australia the thing that used to get me the most excited about spring was seeing the patches of green grass back out after snow melted away - and that wonderful fresh smell in the air of all the plants coming to life again after a long winter, so so wonderful. Navy and green are two colours perfectly suited for red headed gals so why not wear them together - both of them suit you so well! Also, that hat is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that smell sublime? It's one of those scents that I don't believe could ever fully and completely be replicated by the human hand. We started to experience it again at the start of April and have been properly into springtime weather ever since.
DeleteThank you very much for your splendidly lovely comment (and compliments), dear Harlow. I hope that all is well on your end as autumn gets into full swing in Australia, and that you're having a beautiful season, too.
Tons of hugs & happy wishes for the new week,
♥ Jessica
You look gorgeous and radiant, dear Jessica, and I love how you are not afraid to mix colours. You have a fine talent and appreciation of style and what looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesomely lovely compliment, sweet Linda. Thank you very, very much. I wish you could see how much I'm beaming right now because of it.
DeleteHuge hugs coming your way,
♥ Jessica
Blue and green are so perfect together! I love wearing similar tones like that - blue and green, pink and red, yellow and orange. I feel like I only discover rules that I didn't know about when people talk about breaking them!
ReplyDeleteI do really love this look, and I think I'd be on board no matter what colors you chose. That dress is a dream - I love how the v-neck draws the eye to your face - and paired with the hat, it's even lovelier.
Aren't they though? These two play so stunningly together that it's all the more mysterious as to why their fashion pairing has ever been frowned upon. It's fantastic that you adore wearing them, too.
DeleteThank you very much for the super lovely compliment. You're such a sweet person!
Tons of hugs,
♥ Jessica
Such a gorgeous dress and colour on you! Love the gloves and hat! It's fun to break the fashion "rules" - you always look fantastic x
ReplyDeleteIt really is! Even those grounded in logic way back in the day deserve to be revisited - and rethought - in the 21st century. We have such an awesome degree of freedom in how we dress now and should take full advantage of such, including breaking these sorts of antiquated styling guidelines, if so desired.
DeleteBig hugs & many thanks for your great comment,
♥ Jessica
I agree with you fashion rules often make no sense. And of course they become redundant as times change. Having grown up in the 60s and 70s when everything was a riot of colour and then lived in Paris, home of the little black dress in the mono 90s I know only too well that you must follow what you feel is right for yourself. Love you in green and blue. x
ReplyDeleteExactly! What might have been quite sound and logical in, say, 1840 or 1900, does not necessarily ring true today for most people and it is doing fashion, and colours themselves, a disservice to (potentially) trap them behind "rules" that are now largely antiquated and/or no longer relevant to the lives of fashion fans in today's world.
DeleteMany thanks for your terrific comment, sweet lady.
xoxo ♥ Jessica
These rich hues look super beautiful with your skin tone and red hair, and do indeed look great together! I am all about adding solid colored dresses to my wardrobe this year so this is more good inspiration for me. Also that is one lovely hat!
ReplyDeleteSame here! I will always, always adore a great print, but the older I get, the more I feel pulled towards solid coloured frocks (and other garments in general, too). They have such an easy, versatile quality and can, sometimes, hold their ground all the more throughout the whole year, too, whereas some patterns are typically more seasonally appropriate (pastel flowers in spring, red and white gingham in summer, earth tone leaf prints in fall, etc).
DeleteThank you very much for the wonderfully lovely compliments, my dear friend.
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
What an amazing outfit - you look beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Kelly. What a marvelously lovely - and very sweet - compliment.
DeleteBig hugs,
♥ Jessica
I don't understand the blue-green rule any more than I do why some people won't put pink and red together... I actually think blue is one of the most versatile colours for matching out there; there's little it doesn't go with, in my eyes. You are rocking blue and green here - I love those gloves especially! A very classy, very beautiful outfit xx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, sweet CiCi - knowing our mutual passion (which, I should mention, Tony shares as well) for mint green, I had a distinct feeling that you'd be a big fan of these elegant ruched gloves, too. :)
DeleteAgreed! Many shades of blue (beyond "just" navy and classic denim) are pseudo neutrals in my books and they really do, as you so wisely pointed out, go with countless other colours. Blue is a strong backbone in my wardrobe and I can't imagine it ever not being such.
Many hugs & happy Monday wishes,
♥ Jessica
I've really never understood the rule against blue and green together and, like you, tend ignore it. To me, they're both such fresh pretty colors that there's no reason for them not to go together provided the shades you choose don't clash...speaking of which, I love the varying shades of greens you have with this outfit, you look splendid!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better!
Same here! You'd think given how often they occur in nature together that this would be one of the most common and popular colour combos, but no dice. It's really strange! Thankfully us fashionistas can do our own part to help change the tides there. :)
DeleteThank you very much. I'm thrilled to report that my flare-ups really calmed down last week at long last. So much so, in fact, that Tony and I were able to get out of town on a quick, much needed weekend road trip (we returned on Sunday night) - which I'll be blogging about here in the near future. A couple of days to recoup now from that, and hopefully I'll still be doing well and able to (keep) get(ting) out more this spring.
Tons of hugs coming your way,
♥ Jessica
I completely agree! While I love wearing season colors, it really comes down to you and what you are comfortable with and what you like!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the photos are gorgeous and perhaps some of my favorite! The setting is so gorgeous!
xoxo
-Janey
It totally does, I agree. The importance of confidence in dressing cannot be understated and goes such a long way towards how successful just about any outfit looks. Thank you for raising that important point, sweet Janey.
DeleteI love these snaps - and this outfit - as well. The light was so grey and flat that day, but as usual Tony still managed to weave his magic and create a deeply beautiful set of images (props to him for such! :)).
Big hugs & happy second half of April wishes to you, my dear friend,
♥ Jessica
Gorgeous dress! You look lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a wonderfully nice compliment, sweet gal. Thank you very, very much!
DeleteBig hugs & happy Thursday wishes,
♥ Jessica
Those vibrant colours in your dress and hat really sing out in these photos. Such a lovely outfit. The minty green of your gloves matches the roofs of the buildings in the background which may be unintentional accessorising but I rather loved it! Hope your flare ups are improving so that you can get out and about again.
ReplyDeleteFantastic spotting! That wan't intentional, but it was certainly a cool coincidence. I just love it when random locations end up working out like that. :)
DeleteThank you very much. Things have calmed down a fair bit, and while this week isn't quite as good on that front than the last, they're still considerably better than late Feb - early April, so I can't complain in the slightest.
I hope that you're having a sunny, terrific weekend. After a week of scorching, for this time of the year especially, hot temps, we're getting cooler weather and rain again here at the moment - which, really, is much more in keeping with the spirit of April (than new 30C temps!).
Tons of hugs & happy Sunday wishes,
♥ Jessica
You look adorable in that dress, dear. You are very lucky to get such lovely additions to your wardrobe. And you are so absolutely right about all those completely outdated fashion rules. I've always loved red and pink together and often got comments about it, but I think it looks great together. And so does your pairing of green and blue. And I'm officially behind with your blog! Gardening, the green house project, sewing and life got in the way. So sorry. I will catch up a bit tonight. Have a lovely day, dear. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you sweetly, dear Sanne. I am very fortunate to be able to work so many stellar sponsors around the world. I never take this for granted and value every person or company that I have a working relationship with. They benefit my blog and I benefit their company, so it's a stellar arrangement for all involved.
DeleteRed and pink are marvelous together! I've always been especially drawn to that pairing in the context of floral prints - particularly dresses. The first truly adult looking frock that I had as a young teenager was a curve hugging pink and red rose print on a white background. It wasn't vintage, but it had a 50s-esque quality and I wore it until it was ready for the rag bag.
Please don't worry for the tiniest of moment. I truly appreciate your visits and comments anytime. It's so touch that you pop by here on the very frequent basis that you do.
I hope that things are going swimmingly with the greenhouse, gardening and everything else. We're well on this end as May kicks off and are getting treated to just about the most perfect springtime weather one could ever ask for.
Huge hugs & joyful May wishes!
♥ Jessica
