One does drive through various towns and communities at different points along the route, but nothing so big or noteworthy in relation to our interests that we'd stop there in the course of such a short trip. Canada, being such a large country, often means cities are very spaced out and that's really the case once you head north from the Okanagan, past the Shuswap, towards the Cariboo. Tony really enjoys driving and had no problem doing Calgary (about the same distance/time) each way in a day, so we'd likely power through and do it all in a day. It's lovely suggestion though for sure, thank you very much.

I hope you guys are able to get a fun getaway or two this year as well!

♥ Jessica

Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423410690702297063.post-74169602407020432902015-03-18T03:45:10.950-07:002015-03-18T03:45:10.950-07:00That sounds like it would be a lovely trip. It's a bit of a drive for sure, but if done in the spring, summer or early fall, a truly beautiful one that gets greener and greener with each passing mile.

♥ JessicaWitchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423410690702297063.post-9506411589210113892015-03-15T07:51:49.523-07:002015-03-15T07:51:49.523-07:00Goodness, does it ever!!! Though a large scale holiday like this isn't apt to happen for us this year, Tony and I were just discussing the prospect of a 4 - 5 day getaway later this year the Cariboo region of BC, which Tony has never been to and I haven't stepped foot in since the summer I was 17. It's one of my favourite parts of the province, plus I have a few relatives there, none of whom I've seen that many years or longer, so it would be a smart choice for a little trip like that on a lot of levels. Whether we head there or elsewhere in BC or the neighbouring province of Alberta, I really hope we are able to hit the open road at lease once this year. I'm missing traveling big time!

Tons of hugs & happy weekend wishes,
♥ JessicaWitchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423410690702297063.post-133337702790221252015-03-13T03:53:07.457-07:002015-03-13T03:53:07.457-07:00Gosh time flies doesn't it?! I treasure the experience and memories, very much including wearing your gorgeous hand knit green bolero while feeding those uber cute seals (and at other times on that trip, too).

I was just reflecting yesterday on, aside for its own merits of course, why I like to blog about our trips so much and a huge part of it for me is that, due to me health, I never know when the next journey may take place. Prior to our trip to Calgary in September 2013, I had not been on holiday for eight years due 100% to my health. That is a long spell for anyone, especially if they adore traveling like I do, so these posts serve as both a way to help me recall the great time I had, but also to show my health that sometimes I'm still able to rise above the hell (if we're being frank) that it puts me through most of the time.

Okay, that got really somber! On a cheerier note, I hope that you're doing well and having a fantastic first week of March. Hopefully spring is starting to reemerge on your end already. It's still more winter than spring here, but one can tell that the return of warmer days isn't that too far off (yay!).

Tons of hugs & happy weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423410690702297063.post-66037677305397351982015-03-06T16:09:34.854-08:002015-03-06T16:09:34.854-08:00Being fair myself, I completely understand your tr...Being fair myself, I completely understand your troubles with peach. I need peach to have pink undertones for me and then it can still be hit and miss (coral though, is usually a winner). In fact, during the winter of 2012 - 13, I wore it so often, I actually had to make a conscious effort to shake things up a bit, least people started thinking those were the only colours I owned. While I do gravitate towards this trio/quartet most often in late fall and all through the winter, it really is a year round winner in my books and one that I usually delve into again come summer (once I've had a good hit of springtime pastels, brights and cheerful patterns like florals and gingham).

With all my heart, I hope that your upcoming hospital trip proves helpful. True! And beyond just it's season role, in general I don't feel like red is having a moment these days. Granted red has become something of a signature colour for me in recent years (a topic I'm planning to post on later this year actually), but again in general you don't see big doses of red, especially outside of a rockabilly/pinup girl context all that often. It's one of the more forgotten hues at the moment in modern fashion.

I'm all for pastels as spring emerges, too. They featured heavily in my recent 25 vintage dresses to buy right now for spring post and will be appearing in this month's new Vintage Fashionista Friday post, too. This spring I'm especially feeling feeling baby blue, light yellow, and gentle pinky-peaches. Which pastels are you swooning over at the moment?

Oodles of hugs,
♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423410690702297063.post-41388459953309407492015-03-05T09:34:39.526-08:002015-03-05T09:34:39.526-08:00Thank you sweetly, dear Natalie. I'm this tota...Thank you sweetly, dear Natalie. I'm this total juxtaposition of being a passionate homebody (especially in the winter) and a major travel fan with a perpetual undercurrent of wanderlust flowing through my veins. Thankfully the two usually help keep one another in check and make those rare holidays that are able to happen all the more amazing.

Goodness, do I hear you there! We saved for eleven months for this trip and even then had to stick close to our budget (which, thankfully we did - yay!). The travel fund is no wear near rebuilt again, so I doubt a big trip like this will be in the cards for 2015, but you never know. I do enter a fair number of "win a vacation" type contests from magazines, grocery stores, etc, so there's always that slim chance or that things could really go in our favour otherwise and we're able to get away somewhere for a fun week or two again. If not, I totally understand and will be content with just a long weekend or two spent away from home as the year progresses.

I know you said that you don't have a burning desire to travel right now, but if that changes, I sincerely hope that you're able to get away for a while, too.

Big hugs,
♥ Jessica Witchcrafted Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992822472797191121noreply@blogger.com
