Now that I'm posting vintage outfit images here, I find myself constantly on the lookout as we pop around town (and neighbouring destinations) for spots that I think would make for interesting photo shoot backdrops.

I know that many of you who share wardrobe snaps on your sites do the same thing, too, and I think it can be a lot of fun actually to keep a well honed eye open for just the right location to partner with what you're wearing, what mood you're in, something seasonal, or any other reason your heart desires.

While out and about in nearby Kelowna recently, I was keeping the ol' peppers peeled for just such a spot. Tony was thinking perhaps a park, and I was down with that idea, but when we just happened to cruise past a newly built (so new that only one of the businesses had set up shop yet) little plaza in a semi-industrial part of Rutland (in north Kelowna) and it was there that saw the wall.

I knew instantly that the fantastic medium grey hue this wall was sporting would make for an ideal backdrop against which to stand in my vivid turquoise, red, and white vintage ensemble. The wall did not disappoint. In fact, it shone so well that I'm now head-over-heels in love with it. I want it to come saddle up alongside my house and wait like a good little wall for any time I need the perfect grey backdrop.

Failing that, I will just have to have a long distance relationship with the wall, visiting and bringing it sartorial gifts when I happen to be in that neck of Kelowna.
